Students evacuate school twice in one week due to fire alarm
December 13, 2014
The fire alarm rang two times this week, causing all students and staff to evacuate from the building.
Central students were first evacuated on Tues. Dec. 9, after a special needs student visiting from Kingsley Elementary School pulled the alarm by the swimming pool. Tuesday was also a beach-themed day for the Holiday Dress-up Week, so many students and staff stood outside in shorts and Hawaiian shirts.
On Friday, according to Dean Mike Stock, a driver passing by Central may have seen smoke or fire from the kiln in Central and called the school, believing there was a fire. Officials rang the alarm for precaution.
