District 203 staff and students were unable to edit any files on Google Drive within the Naperville 203 organization due to a misconfiguration on Google’s Part on Monday, Oct. 7.
A message stating “organization storage full” was present on Google Drive from about 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., preventing users from editing documents.
“The issue was actually caused by a misconfiguration on Google’s part during our license renewal process,” said Lisa Xagas, Assistant Superintendent for Strategy and Engagement. “While we could view docs, we could not create new Docs and we could not edit docs.”
The outage meant some students and staff had to reorient from planned instruction during the outage to due to the lack of online services.
“Students had to adapt more than I did, because I had a printed out assignment and rubric for [an] essay, so that wasn’t impacted,” English teacher Marybeth Reilly said.
