About the Contributors
Jake Pfeiffer, Editor-in-Chief
Jake Pfeiffer is a senior, entering his third year on the Central Times staff, this time as Editor-in-Chief. Jake joined CT as a sophomore because he wanted to write news, but since then he has grown to love just about every element of journalism. While it is rare to see Jake anywhere other than the CT office, occasionally you can find him captaining Central’s debate team, watching baseball, listening to a seemingly endless amount of podcasts or drowning in college applications.
Jay Deegan, Editor-in-Chief
Jay Deegan, a senior, is more excited than ever to be back working on the Central Times. Now in his fourth year on staff, he has previously served as the Print Managing Editor and Editorial Editor. In his free time, Jay is an avid movie watcher and a huge Bears fan (Caleb Williams is our savior). He also runs a freelance sports media business where he expresses his love of sports through all types of visual media. If you stop by the Central Times office, you'll likely find Jay there. Interested in joining the staff? Come to a meeting!
Javen Oswald, Marketing, Outreach and Engagement Managing Editor
Javen Oswald is a senior at NCHS. This is his third year on staff, and he has moved into a manager position. Early in life, Javen found success as a child actor, gaining recognition for his role as Young Jordan Denton in Chicago Fire S2 E12, entitled “Disco Bob.” Now, he has shifted his focus to producing high-quality journalistic opinions. Next year, he plans on going to college to study film.
Noah Rozek, Page Designer
Noah Rozek is a senior at Central. He enjoys listening to Kanye West and swedish rap. Noah enjoys his work at Potbelly Sandwich Shop. He also likes writing about the human experience and interviewing.
Alice Wang, Staff Artist
Alice Wang is a senior returning for their third year with the Central Times. Alice previously created editorial cartoons and designed pages, but this year they are focusing on creating art for a wider range of work as a staff artist. Outside of CT, Alice spends much of their time drawing, reading comics, attempting to cook, watching old films and listening to Wave to Earth. After graduation, Alice plans on studying animation (hopefully without going into debt).
