About the Contributors
Jay Deegan, Editor-in-Chief
Jay Deegan, a senior, is more excited than ever to be back working on the Central Times. Now in his fourth year on staff, he has previously served as the Print Managing Editor and Editorial Editor. In his free time, Jay is an avid movie watcher and a huge Bears fan (Caleb Williams is our savior). He also runs a freelance sports media business where he expresses his love of sports through all types of visual media. If you stop by the Central Times office, you'll likely find Jay there. Interested in joining the staff? Come to a meeting!
C.J. Getting, Operations Managing Editor
C.J. Getting is a senior in his fourth year on the Central Times. After reporting on the DNC, he’s excited to continue his coverage of critical news stories. Outside of CT, C.J. is the President of Student Advisory Council and Captain of the Debate Team at Central. He also spends way too much time on Google Sheets. After graduation, C.J. hopes to major in Political Science and spend too much money on Law School someday.
Kate Johnson, Arts & Entertainment Editor
Kate Johnson is a senior and this is her second year on the Central Times. Kate moved to Naperville prior to her junior year. This year Kate is focusing on Arts and Entertainment and photography. Her hobbies include reading, writing, cooking, music, and gaming. She hopes to major in journalism and communications.
Elaine Zhou, Profiles Editor
Elaine Zhou is a senior and this will be her third year with Central Times. With her experience as the features editor the previous year, she is ready to narrow her journalistic focus onto managing profiles. Outside of CT, Elaine is the president of Chinese Club, board member for Literary Magazine, a violinist, an avid stationary fanatic and a lover of oxford commas. With a passion for both the humanities and science, Elaine wants to study Biochemistry after she graduates—that is if she manages to survive senioritis.
