Samantha Szopinski named new Dean of Student Activities
December 9, 2022
Learning support coach and FACS teacher Samantha Szopinski will be Central’s new Dean of Student Activities following the current Dean of Student Activities Lynne Nolan’s retirement at the end of the semester.
“I loved activities when I was in high school and it was my favorite part,” Szopinski said. “I’m really looking forward to just seeing kind of the big picture and getting a chance to work with the students and seeing the whole student body.”
Szopinski will assume the position on Jan. 6.
“Our kids are busy, because they’re trying to be involved in so many things and contribute to their community in so many different ways,” Szopinski said. “I’m excited to really help them enhance their experience.”
Szopinski is also looking forward to working with staff in new capacities.
“I think we have great coaches and sponsors under activities and look forward to collaborating with them to enhance their programs,” Szopinski said.
Szopinski has taught at Central for 11 years and has coached varsity cheer for 12.
“I love [this] school,” Szopinski said. “We have great students and great staff and I think people are proud to be Redhawks.”

It’s always sad to lose a Redhawk, especially someone as incredible as Mrs. Nolan. It is, however, great to see someone eager to fill the large shoes Mrs. Nolan is leaving behind. I know Ms. Szopinski will do an amazing job. I wish Mrs. Nolan the best in her retirement, and can’t wait to see what new and exciting changes Ms. Szopinski will bring. Go Redhawks!
