All-in Club is a new student organization that allows members to gamble in poker and blackjack, although no real money is involved.
They meet every Thursday in Room 331 from 3:20-4:20 p.m..
The club was founded by junior Vardhan Singu, who wanted to form the club due to his own interest in poker.
“I just played poker with my friends and I was like, ‘this is actually really fun,’” Singu said. “Why not make a club so I can invite more friends to play with?”
Poker is a card game where players wager over the strength of their hand, without knowing the strength of their opponents’ hands.
According to All-in Club sponsor Tom Sanoshy, the games have been a learning process for many students.
“At the beginning, for a lot of them, it’s just been ‘three of a kind beats a pair,’ ‘how do you make a hand in poker, what are the ranks?’” Sanoshy said. “Learning the rules has been a lot.”
Singu hopes to spread awareness about the club and ensure that it provides a learning process but also an opportunity for students to play fun and competitive games.
“People are showing up and I’m very, very proud of the consistency that they have garnered,” Sanoshy said.
